Sport Local Action is a community interest company built on a simple belief – that sport has the power to change lives, and that too much of that power goes to waste.
Across the UK, sports clubs, charities and individuals are already doing extraordinary things. They are tackling knife crime, supporting mental health, reducing reoffending, fighting poverty, creating employment and bringing isolated people back into community life. Sport is the vehicle. The impact is real.
But these organisations often work in isolation – underfunded, under-connected and under the radar. That is the problem we exist to solve.
We bring the sector together. We make great work visible. We help it reach further.
We do this through three things: the Sport Impact Hub, which gives Sport for Good programmes a free platform to be found and supported; the Sports Bank, which funds direct participation for young people who face financial barriers; and our media output – the Power of Sport Podcast and weekly newsletter – which tells the stories the sector deserves to have told.
Sport Local Action is a non-profit CIC. We are not here to build an empire. We are here to make the existing ecosystem work better – for the clubs, the charities, the funders and most of all, the people whose lives sport can change.
