A note on positioning: We understand independent schools are navigating significant financial pressures of their own, including the recent VAT changes on school fees. Sports Bank is not asking schools to do more than they can. We’re asking schools to do what they already do — but in a coordinated, visible and impactful way.
Accreditation scheme

Sports Bank offers a Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation scheme for independent schools — designed to help schools communicate to their local community how much they’re already contributing.
Schools receive a formal accreditation badge and can become part of the first national network of Independent School Sports Bank Partners.

Kit & Equipment Donation
Schools have a constant turnover of high-quality kit. Donate team kits, PE wear, boots, equipment — and create termly collection points for pupils and parents.
Facility Access
Offer free or subsidised access to pitches, courts, sports halls and gyms at off-peak times. Community clubs and talented young athletes who can’t access professional facilities benefit directly.
Participation Cost Support
Fund club membership fees, match subs, travel or equipment for children in hardship. Create a school-branded Sports Bank Participation Bursary.
Student-Led Action
Nominate Sports Bank as Charity of the Term. Run 5-a-side tournaments, kit recycling days, non-uniform days. Engage Sixth Formers in campaigns on sports inequality.
Coaching & Talent Support
Offer coaching clinics in local state schools. Provide mentoring for talented young athletes from low-income backgrounds. Run inclusive multisport days.
Storage & Logistics
Provide secure storage space for kit and equipment. Act as a local Sports Bank collection hub. Host seasonal distribution events.
Communications & Networks
Share Sports Bank updates via newsletters, parent portals and assemblies. Introduce Sports Bank to other independent school networks and alumni communities.
Support for Girls in Sport
Host sports bra fitting days. Deliver workshops on body awareness and confidence. Help distribute essential products to girls in local clubs and schools.
SEND & Inclusive Sport
Donate adaptive equipment. Host inclusive sport days. Partner with local disability sport organisations to ensure every child can participate.
Purpose-Led Purchasing
Sports Bank partners include BoobyDoo, WUKA Wear and Fab Little Bag. Schools can host Buy One Give One campaigns — parents purchase kit, and a matching product goes to Sports Bank.
Alumni & Corporate Networks
Engage alumni working in sport, business or philanthropy. Connect Sports Bank to relevant CSR teams. Encourage parent-run businesses to support through sponsorship or equipment grants.
Community Outreach
Identify local families or clubs that may benefit from Sports Bank support. Partner with grassroots clubs to create reliable referral routes. Host community sports days and taster sessions.
Independent schools that join now become Founding Members of the first national network of Independent School Sports Bank Partners. You’ll help shape the model, be recognised as sector leaders, and contribute to the first annual Independent Schools Sports Access Report. This is the ground floor of something that will grow nationally.
