Stockport County Football Club has confirmed plans to take over operations at Stockport Sports Village from April 2026, marking a significant next phase in the club’s long-term commitment to community sport and education. The move will see the site become a central hub for the club’s Academy, women’s teams, Football Education programme and grassroots activity, while remaining a protected community sporting asset.

Crucially, the plans place Stockport County Community Trust at the heart of delivery, with an expanded range of programmes focused on physical activity, wellbeing, education and community connection across the borough. The approach reflects a genuine one-club strategy, aligning elite development, education and community impact within a single, shared vision.

With investment planned in facilities, education pathways and girls’ and women’s football, Stockport Sports Village is set to play a growing role in supporting young people, strengthening local communities and building a sustainable future for both club and town.
