Don's Local Action Group

We operate as a grassroots network that redistributes surplus food and household items to households who need it. Volunteers are central to the process. Items are sourced from supermarkets, restaurants, and community donations. Once collected, another team of volunteer’s sorts, manages and delivers the items to those in need. The Food Poverty Programme operates on an ongoing and flexible basis, with participants accessing support through a referral process. The programme is free to access and has a safeguarding policy in place to support participant safety and wellbeing. While participant feedback has not been provided, the programme includes accessibility considerations by creating bespoke food boxes tailored to meet cultural and dietary requirements, helping ensure support is inclusive and responsive to individual needs.
